Baked Her A Cake.

It's my mom's birthday Saturday. On March 27.

She'd turn 51 if she were still on this earth.

Last year, I wrote her this ontourage of a letter, about her and loving her, and the goodness of her.

I also mulled for days about what special thing I could get her for her 50th birthday. I ended up with nothing "special" but bought several cute items and put them in a bag and labeled them with qualities that I appreciated and saw in her. She loved it.

In two days, she'd turn 51. It doesn't throw me, it doesn't cause emotional upheavel (yet!) but it is a matter-of-fact.

And since it's year #1, I need to acknowledge it.

So, I baked her a cake :)

My favorite - funfetti with funfetti frosting. This makes me smile. I love her. I love getting to bake a cake for her. I love the candles that will glow and shine bright for her. I love being able to do something special for her.

I loved that it would make her smile, as it makes me smile :)

And she's smiling too. Isn't that a wonderful thought? And...you let a few of us smile with you. Thanks.
